After Care

Aftercare is as important as actually getting the tattoo done. Your tattoo is placed on your skin correctly and from then on it is your responsibility to take care of it. If the aftercare instructions are ignored and not followed the artist and studio may not be held liable for any infections or problems that may occur due to the client's negligence. We are a phone call away, so please feel free to contact us directly if you have any questions or concerns.

Keep the bandage on for two to three hours.

After two to three hours, remove bandage carefully.

Once uncovered, wash with warm water and mild soap, then wash three times per day for the next 7 to 14 days.

Use A&D ointment; Apply a very thin layer as often as possible to prevent your tattoo from drying out. If it feels dry and tight, apply the ointment.

After a few days, it is perfectly normal for the skin on the tattoo to take a cloudy appearance, followed by peeling for a short while, like a sunburn.

NEVER peel or pick any part of your tattoo. If you do, you will lose color and could result in additional expense in re-coloring.

DO NOT use alcohol to clean the tattoo.

DO NOT rub or scratch.

DO NOT let the tattoo dry out.

DO NOT expose to direct sunlight or tanning beds for two weeks.

DO NOT soak the tattoo in a sauna, steam bath, or bathtub for two weeks.

DO NOT allow water to beat directly onto the tattoo while showering for at least one week.

AVOID CHLORINE!!! No swimming in pools rivers or oceans for at least two weeks.

Remember that your tattoo is an open wound until it is completely healed. If you use the guidelines listed above, and a little common sense, in a short while you will not even know it is there except when you're showing it off. A lot of thought planning and certain amount of discomfort has gone into your new tattoo with just a little care it will continue to look great for years to come.
